About Me

I’m Sadie! great to meet you!

I was born in Boulder, CO and, though I’ve tried hard to live in other places, I just keep coming back to Colorful Colorado. I spent two years in Laramie, Wyoming pursuing a Musical Theatre degree before transferring to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC. After graduating and spending another year in the city, I came back home to walk my mom down the aisle and never left.

When I’m not tattooing, I love playing music, acting in the occasional local theatre production, reading till my eyes bleed, watching horror movies, and hanging out with my wonderful partner and our 18-year-old cat, Pretzel.

Art has always been a part of my life, but always as a casual hobby. I’ve always drawn and painted and doodled, but never even considered pursuing a career in the visual arts. Then Covid happened. To fill my time, I ended up investing in a tablet. And, let me tell you, if I had discovered digital art 15 years ago, my life would have gone very differently. I started drawing and creating non-stop and became pretty obsessed with it.

I’d been friends with Lora—Nest’s owner and a BOMB tattoo artist—for a few years and after getting three tattoos from her in the span of a few months once she was able to work again in the pandemic, she asked me if I’d ever thought about tattooing. After a lot of shock and bafflement (and a very frantic promise from Lora that she wouldn’t be mad at me if I sucked at it) I started my apprenticeship!

Lora opened Nest shortly after this and I found myself a part of the most incredible group of artists and people working towards a career that I never imagined for myself but could not picture my life without. I am so grateful to Lora for giving me this opportunity, and to the other Nesties and all of my amazing clients for all of your support.

I live in Westminster with my giant dork of a partner, Tom, our ancient, scraggly, dinosaur cat, Pretzel, and my sweet, dopey ball python Gaia.

In the few minutes of free time that I get, you can usually find me with a dreamy far-off look and my nose stuck in a book, or watching 90’s rom-coms while working on whatever my current craft hyper-fixation is.

Thanks for reading this far, I’m so lucky to have such a cool community of supporters and I can’t wait to tattoo you all!!
